According to a study, it is found that percentage of
micro plastic in living beings is increasing at a rapid rate. It is said that
people worldwide could be consuming 5 g of plastic particles every week which
is quite a large amount.
It is revealed that the world has produced as much plastic
as during the rest of history and also took a notice that industry is set to
grow by 4% a year until 2025. The question is, when do we start acting for all
of these things.
The study also revealed that more than 75% of all plastics
produced winds up as waste. Around 100 million tonnes is dumped into Nature,
polluting land, rivers and the sea. Plastic particles are found in marine
animals and it is more than what was previously found.
Governments have already made various laws on this issue but
the real problems comes in its enactment. People do not follow the rules and
most of them don’t even care about the consequences. They continue what they
are suppose to do.
The laws should be strict and binding to all. Then only some
results will be reflected. We, as a common people should also take up the
responsibility to do various things to reduce the usage of plastic. We should
reduce the usage of plastic as much as possible.
Governments, NGOs, and as a individual, we should spread
awareness about the hazardous results of the excessive usage of the plastic.
In schools and colleges proper seminars and meetups should be arranged to explain
about plastic usage.
